Kazakhstan Maintains Its Position as One of the World’s Leading Flour Exporters

At the end of 2025, Kazakhstan retained its position as the world’s second-largest exporter of wheat flour, second only to Turkey. This is an important indicator for the country’s flour milling industry: demand for Kazakh flour remains stable, while grain processing continues to develop as a strong independent segment of the agro-industrial sector.

According to data announced by the Union of Grain Processors of Kazakhstan, flour production in the country reached 3.62 million tonnes in 2025, while wheat flour exports amounted to 1.93 million tonnes. The main export destinations remain Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. The growing interest in the Chinese market and the development of grain processing exports were also highlighted.

For flour milling enterprises, such volumes mean not only expanding markets, but also higher requirements for consistent product quality. When working with flour, accurate control of gluten, moisture, protein and other quality indicators is essential. These parameters affect how raw materials behave in production and whether the final product meets buyers’ requirements.

One solution for laboratory quality control is the CropLab gluten analyzer. The instrument is designed to determine wet and dry gluten content, gluten index and water-holding capacity of gluten in wheat, cereal and whole-grain flour. This equipment is especially relevant for flour mills, elevators, production laboratories and companies working with export batches.

Quality control at every stage — from grain intake to finished flour production — helps enterprises maintain product consistency, reduce the risk of complaints and operate confidently in international markets.
