UKRAINE: The Volyn region joins harvesting campaign

Since 01.07.2021 some agricultural enterprises in the Volyn region have started harvesting winter barley.

Harvesting is one of the most important stages in agriculture, and proper organization of this process is essential for a successful harvest. The accession of the Volyn region to the harvesting company will allow agricultural producers in this region to gain access to highly qualified specialists and modern equipment for harvesting. This will not only improve productivity, but also improve the quality of the crop, which can increase the profits of farmers.

This year more than 420 thousand hectares have to be harvested in this region:

302 thousand hectares are cereals,

38 thousand hectares – soybeans,

31 thousand hectares – sunflower,

51 thousand hectares – rapeseed.

Early grain crops were sown on an area of almost 270 thousand hectares:

7 thousand hectares – winter barley,

17 thousand hectares – wheat,

22 thousand hectares – winter rye,

29 thousand hectares – spring barley,

35 thousand hectares – oats,

5 thousand hectares – peas.

Corn was sown on 30 thousand hectares, buckwheat – 2 thousand hectares, millet – 1 thousand hectares.

For 7 years in a row, the Volyn region has been expecting over 1 million tons of the gross harvest of crops and completely covers the region’s needs in food grain.
