World: Forecast for world grain production in 2018/19 MY is reduced

According to information received from the current report from the International Grain Council, the volume of cereals production will decrease by 18.000.000 t and amount to 2.059 billion tons.

If we compare this indicator with the forecast for 2017/18 MY, then we see that this year the harvest will be 32.000.000 t less than the previous one.

It should be added that grain trade in the world will reach a level of 370 million tons, which is 2.000.000 t higher than the figure for 2016/17 MY and 1.000.000 t more than the previous forecast.

It should also be recalled that as of July 25 in Ukraine the amount of new harvest reached 20.000.000 t of new crops. The collection area was 6.3 million hectares, which is 65% of the total territory, and the yield reached a level of 31.9 centners per hectare.
