Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan’s grain reserves as of February

The quantity of grain crops in the bins of Kazakhstan as of February 1 was 14 million tons.

Such information was provided by the Committee of Statistics.

The quantity of wheat as of the specified date was 11.577 million tons, 9.5 million tons of which are food wheat, 1.4 million tons are for seeds and the quantity of feed wheat reached 664.000 tons.

Also, in the reserves of Kazakhstan there are corn, rice, barley, rye, oats, buckwheat, etc. The amount of corn and rice was 114 and 233 thousand tons, respectively, while the amount of rye and oats dropped to 51.7 and 190.5 thousand tons.

It should be recalled that the barley harvest in 2017 increased by 2.3% compared to last year and amounted to 3.3 million tons.

This indicator broke all records for the entire period of cultivation of this crop in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

14.8 million tons of wheat were harvested, while last year it was possible to harvest 1.2% more. The yield of this crop was 12.4 centners per hectare, which is 16% more than over the last 5 years.
