Cost and logistics of grain crops from Ukraine

In July 2025, Ukraine exported 2.9 million tons of grain, oilseeds and products of their processing – 6% less than in the previous month. According to the State Customs Service, the main volume (2.5 million tons) went through the seaports of the Odessa region, 0.1 million tons – through the river ports of the Danube, 0.2 million tons – by rail and 0.1 million tons – by road. For comparison, in the first half of July, exports amounted to 1 million tons, of which 0.8 million tons were through the seaports of Odessa, 0.1 million tons – the Danube, 0.1 million tons – by rail and 0.03 million tons – by road, – grain market analyst Oleksandr Korenitsyn reported.
Regarding prices: for wheat (FOB France) at the end of July – 237 USD/t (-5 USD per year). In Ukraine (2nd class, CPT) — 205 USD/t in the center (+34 USD per year) and 221 USD/t in ports (+25 USD). Wheat harvest: 44% of the area (2.18 million hectares) has been threshed, the harvest — 7.09 million tons with a yield of 32.5 centners/hectare. The largest — in Odessa, Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions. Wheat export: 330.7 thousand tons to Egypt, Spain, Tunisia (total for 2024/25 MY).
Corn price (FOB USA) — 200 USD/t (+10 USD per year). In Ukraine (CPT) — 212 USD/t in the center (+82 USD) and 224 USD/t in ports (+57 USD). Crops suffer from yellowing, pests, hail and downpours in the south, center and east. The forecast for the corn harvest in Brazil has increased to 136.3 million tons (safrinha – 108.9 million tons), – noted Korenitsyn. Corn exports: 488.2 thousand tons to Turkey, Italy, the Netherlands (for 2025/26 MY).
Barley (FOB France) – 226 USD/ton (+20 USD per year). In Ukraine (CPT) – 186 USD/ton in the center (+47 USD) and 202 USD/ton in ports (+53 USD). Harvest: 61% of areas (0.84 million hectares), yield – 2.79 million tons at 33.3 centners/hectare, mainly in Odessa, Mykolaiv and Poltava regions. Exports: 130.3 thousand tons to China, Lebanon, Turkey (for 2025/26 MY).
