Kazakhstan: In granaries of Kostanay region there is more grain than last year

According to statistical data, as of January 1, 2018, in granaries of Kostanay region, the amount of grain reached a level of 3.9 million tons, which is 7.8% higher than the same indicator of 2017.

In Kostanay granaries there are such crops as wheat, barley, oats, buckwheat, millet, corn and rye. Kostanay farmers managed to store 3.4 million tons of wheat, then there are barley stocks with the amount of 339 thousand tons. The reserves of oats and buckwheat are 64.6 thousand tons and 7.4 thousand tons respectively. And the reserves of millet, corn and rye are 4.7 thousand tons, 252 tons and 241 tons respectively.

The amount of food grain as of the reporting date was 2.99 million tons, which is 8.8% more than last year.

It should be recalled that the Prodcorporatsia established a quota for the Kostanay region at the level of 643 thousand tons and to date only 170 thousand tons have been sold.

There is more grain in the granaries of the Kostanay region than last year, thanks to increased yields and successful exports. According to the latest data, grain yields in the region have increased compared to last year, and grain exports also continue to grow.

This is important news for the agricultural sector of the Kostanay region, which is one of the largest grain producers in Kazakhstan. An increase in grain reserves in granaries will ensure stable exports and strengthen the position of the Kostanay region in world markets.
