Sunflower harvest in Ukraine at the beginning of September 2025

As of the beginning of September 2025, more than 200 thousand tons of sunflower have already been harvested in Ukraine. This indicator demonstrates that, despite adverse weather conditions and logistical challenges, farmers are able to harvest one of the key oilseed crops on time.

However, the quality of the grain grown is no less important than the volume. In this context, mobile and express analyzers are becoming increasingly popular, which allow you to quickly determine important parameters: moisture content, protein content, natural weight, etc. This approach facilitates the acceptance of the harvest, storage and sale – after all, quality is key to profitability.

One of the modern solutions in this area is the Infracont NIR analyzers (models SGRAIN and XGRAIN), which are designed for the analysis of whole grains, legumes and oilseeds – such as sunflower, as well as their processed products: flour, meal, cake, etc.

The main advantages of these devices:

  • Fast analysis – measurement is performed in a matter of seconds;
  • No need for complex sample preparation;
  • Multiparametricity – the ability to determine several indicators simultaneously;
  • Portability – the small size of the device, the ability to operate from 12 V (for example, from a car cigarette lighter or battery) ensure use directly in the field or at the elevator;
  • The XGRain model has a weighing module for measuring the actual weight along with other quality parameters without the need for separate equipment;
  • The presence of a built-in printer for quick printing of results;
  • Cloud connection (InfraCloud), which allows you to store, view and analyze data remotely.

Given the significant volume of harvested sunflower, technologies such as Infracont help farmers not only record the quantity, but ensure reliability and quality of products, which has a positive effect on storage conditions, sales and pricing.
