Ukraine: January 2018. Export of sunflower oil

During the first month of 2018, Ukraine managed to export 420.000 t of sunflower oil. The sum of export amounted to 317.550 dollars.

Such information was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

The main consumers of this product during the reporting period were such countries as India (exports amounted to 206.420 t, and the sum of export amounted to 156.080 dollars), the Netherlands (exports amounted to 40.900 t, and the sum of export amounted to 30.930 dollars) and Spain (exports amounted to 29.180 t, and the sum of export amounted to 22.070 dollars).

It should be recalled that over the past year, 5.760.000 t of sunflower oil was exported from Ukraine. The sum of export amounted to 4.3 billion dollars.

In January 2018, Ukraine increased the export of sunflower oil by 27% compared to the same period last year. The total volume of exports for the month amounted to more than 540 thousand tons. This indicates that Ukrainian producers continue to maintain leadership in the global sunflower oil market and are actively developing the export of this product.

Sunflower oil is one of the main products of the Ukrainian agricultural market and has great potential for export. Ukraine occupies one of the first places in the world in terms of production of sunflower and sunflower oil, and plans to further increase the export of the product.

The growth of sunflower oil exports has a beneficial effect on the country’s economy, increasing the volume of foreign exchange earnings and contributing to the development of the agricultural sector. At the same time, the strengthening of positions in the world market also stimulates Ukrainian manufacturers to improve the quality and competitiveness of their products.
