Ukraine: Impact of weather conditions on harvesting campaign

The current overabundance of precipitation did not adversely affect the harvesting process, and even more so, in regions with a pronounced deficit, such weather conditions proved to be more than favorable.

The most negative effect was observed in the regions where hail fell. No one will argue with the fact that excessive rainfall is hampering the harvest campaign. For Ukraine, the most problematic region is Western Ukraine, because due to precipitation, soil moisture increases, which leads to lodging. However, one should take into account the fact that modern technology makes it possible to harvest the crop despite such a phenomenon.

The early spikes were affected the most, therefore additional costs are required for drying and for raising these crops.

But on the other hand, the July precipitation will positively affect the growth of corn and sunflower, and also protect them from premature ripening.

A harvest campaign is the process of harvesting crops. It is a key stage in the production cycle of the agricultural sector, since the size and quality of the products obtained depend on it. However, weather conditions can have a significant impact on harvesting.

For example, heavy rain can make it difficult for equipment to enter the fields, and strong winds can damage plants. High air humidity can also cause grain to germinate, resulting in poor grain quality.

In Ukraine, weather conditions are of great importance in the harvesting process. Spring frosts can damage plants, and summer droughts can reduce yields. However, modern technologies and plant varieties allow farmers to more successfully cope with changeable weather.
