Ukraine: This year rapeseed processing is expected to increase by 60%

In 18/19 MY, the volumes of rapeseed processing are forecasted at the level of 350 thousand tons, which is 60% more than in the previous year.

Such information was provided by APK-Inform.

The processing volumes of 350 thousand tons will exceed last year’s figures by 2.5 times, and at the same time they will become close to a record high figures.

The reason for the change in forecast volumes was a significant amount of the already processed product during July and August of the current year. During these 2 months, the volume of processed crops amounted to 250 thousand tons, whereas last year only 84 thousand tons were processed during the same period.

Consequently, the forecast for the export of rapeseed was also reduced. So, this year export volumes are projected at 2.27 million tons, which is 7.2% more than the data for the past year. Despite this decline, export supplies remain at their maximum over the past 10 marketing seasons.

It should also be recalled that due to the high rates of rapeseed processing, export volumes of rapeseed oil also became a new record during this two months.
