Ukraine: Managed to update some grain records

During the season 19/20, Ukraine set a new record on production of grain and oilseeds in the amount of 98 million tons and the export volumes reached 62 million tons.

In the previous year, Ukraine also set records in the production of the following crops: the amount of produced wheat reached 28 million tons (export volumes were 20.5 million tons), the amount of produced corn reached 35 million tons (export volumes were 30.3 million tons). At the moment, the average wheat yield in the country is 4 tons per hectares and the average yield of corn is 7 tons per hectare, which is significantly lower than in other countries with a similar climate. Therefore, Ukraine has great potential for increasing the productivity of various crops.

In Ukraine, the harvest of the last 3 years exceeded 90 million tons, thanks to the efficient management of agricultural crops and to increased crop yields. Ukraine continues to show good results in the production and export of grain. Last season, the country managed to update some grain records, which confirms its leadership in the industry. In particular, a record was set for the production of barley – more than 9.5 million tons. New indicators were also achieved for the export of grain and oil.
