Ukraine: Sowing of corn is almost completed

As of May 31 in Ukraine, 4.6 million hectares were sown with corn, which is 99.8% of the allotted area.

This information was provided by Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

In addition, it should be added that, in general, 7 million hectares were sown with grain crops, which is 97% of the planned territory.

The early spring crops were planted in an area of 2.2 million hectares, which is 97% of the planned territory. Buckwheat was sown on an area of 45 thousand hectares, which is 46% of the forecast. Millet was sown on 54 thousand hectares, which is 93% of the forecast.

Sowing of sunflower was completed on an area of 5.6 million hectares, which amounted to 98%.

Also, it should be added that soybeans are planted on an area of 1.5 million hectares, which is 81%.

In the current marketing year, 46.13 million tons of grain crops were exported.
