Ukraine: Increase in flour exports

During the period from January to April of this year, the volume of flour export supplies from Ukraine amounted to 162.340 t, which is 35% higher than the results of the previous year. The cost of exports amounted to 34.450.000 dollars.

Such information was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

Also, as of the specified period, 836 tons of flour from other grain types totalled 420.000 dollars were supplied to the foreign markets. These results exceed the results of the previous year by 73%.

The biggest amount of flour for the specified period was imported by such states as China, the United Arab Emirates and Moldova. The import volumes by these countries amounted to 51.330 t, 20.500 t and 13.600 t respectively. The cost of these supplies amounted to 11.500.000 dollars, 4.600.000 dollars and slightly more than 3.000.000 dollars.

But, in comparison with the previous year, the geography of exports has changed slightly. Last year, China occupied the leading position, followed by Moldova, and the last of the three top importers was Somali.

The report also says that flour from other types of grain was imported by such countries as Slovenia, Israel and Moldova.

It should also be recalled that the export of flour since the beginning of the current MY reached 393.500 t, which is almost 90.000 t more than for the same period of the previous year.

Ukraine is one of the largest producers and exporters of grain crops, including flour. The high quality of Ukrainian flour is in demand on world markets.

In addition, Ukrainian flour producers are constantly introducing new production technologies and product quality control, which increases competitiveness in world markets.
