Ukraine: The harvest of grain crops is projected to increase to 70.8 million tons

In the current year, the growth of grain crops harvest is expected at the level of 70.8 million tons, in case the weather conditions are favourable.

This information was provided by Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

This figure will exceed the result of 2018 by 700.000 tons.

According to the forecast, an increase in the cultivation of wheat to 26.9 million tons is expected. In this case, the increase will be 9.3%. In addition, an increase in barley production is also expected to the level of 8.2 million tons. In this case, the increase will be 12.3%.

At the same time, a decrease in the corn yield is expected to the level of 33 million tons, or 7.5%.

It should be recalled that from June 10 of this year a new standard for wheat will be applied.

According to the latest forecasts, the grain harvest in Ukraine this year could reach 70.8 million tons, which is a significant increase compared to last year. The reasons for this growth are favorable weather conditions, an increase in the area under crops and the use of new technologies in agriculture. This increase in yields can lead to an increase in grain exports and a significant contribution to the country’s economy.
