Ukraine: The export volumes of rape increased by 30%

During the period from Jan-Feb, rapeseed exports from Ukraine reached the level of 84.23 thousand tons, which exceeds the same indicator of the previous year by 30%.

Such information was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

The largest amount of rapeseed was purchased by countries such as Portugal, the Netherlands and Israel. The cost of exports was 16.82 million dollars, 11 million dollars and 2.87 million dollars, respectively. The volume of export supplies reached the level of 38.74 thousand tons, 25.83 thousand tons and 6.556 thousand tons.

In 2017, Ukraine exported 2.14 million tons of rapeseed. The supply amount was 881.67 million tons.

It should also be recalled that last year the greatest amount of rape was imported by such countries as the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Over the past period, Ukraine has increased the export of vegetable oils, including rapeseed, by 30%. This increase is associated with an increase in grain production and an increase in the area devoted to growing crops. In addition, the growth in exports of vegetable oils is the result of an increase in demand for oils and fats in world markets.

The export of vegetable oils is an important export of Ukraine and is one of the main sources of foreign exchange earnings in the country. Rapeseed oil is in demand in various industries, including the food and cosmetic industries.

Ukraine continues to develop the production of vegetable oils and increase exports. It is planned to further expand the cultivation of vegetable crops and develop technologies for the production of oils to increase their competitiveness in world markets.
