Ukraine: the exports volume of agricultural crops during the period from January to October 2017

According to statistics, for the period from January to October, 14.22 m tons of what were exported, which is 2.25 billion dollars.

However, the export volume in October is 390.000 tons less than export volume in September.

The main countries that import Ukrainian wheat are Egypt (2.47 m tons of wheat worth 390 million dollars), India (1.63 m tons of wheat worth 257 million dollars), and Indonesia (1.62 m tons of wheat worth 255 million dollars).

From January to October, Ukraine also exported 63.000 tons of sunflower seeds. The exports volume in October is 3.63 thousand tons. The main countries that import sunflower from Ukraine are Turkey (15.33 thousand tons worth 6.33 million dollars), Germany (8.4 thousand tons worth 3.64 million dollars) and Italy (6.23 thousand tons for the amount of 2.57 million dollars).

Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products in the world. In the period from January to October 2017, exports of agricultural products from Ukraine increased by 19% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $13.5 billion.

The largest volume of exports in 2017-2018 fell on cereals, oilseeds and livestock products. In particular, grain exports grew by 21% and amounted to $7.7 billion, while oilseeds exports grew by 13% and amounted to $2.8 billion.

The increase in agricultural exports is due to the growing demand for agricultural products in the world, as well as to the increase in the productivity and efficiency of agriculture in Ukraine. In addition, the government of the country actively supports the agricultural sector, which contributes to the development of the industry and the increase in exports.
