Ukraine: Minagroprod confirmed record harvest of 2018

According to the report provided by the State Statistics Committee on March 25, 2019, the harvest of grain crops in Ukraine in 2018 amounted to 70.06 million tons, and the yield was 4.7 tons/ha.

This information was obtained from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

In 2018, the harvest of corn, soybean and sunflower reached a historic high. This situation has a beneficial effect on the country’s export potential for the 18/19 marketing season.

The wheat harvest amounted to 24.6 million tons (yield reached 3.73 t/ha). Crops such as corn, soybean and sunflower were harvested in the amount of 35.8 million tons, 4.5 million tons and 14.2 million tons, respectively. The yield of the abovementioned crops amounted to 7.8 t/ha, 2.6 t/ha and 2.3 t/ha, respectively.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine confirmed that 2018 was marked by a record harvest of grain crops. The total volume of grain production amounted to 70.1 million tons. This is the result of good weather and the work of farmers. Yields also reached a historic high, exceeding 4 tons per hectare. This result helped strengthen Ukraine’s position in the world grain market and increase exports. The Ministry continues to work on the development of agriculture and support for farmers.
