
Ukraine: MY 2017/18. Indicators of rape exports
During the period from July to January, Ukraine exported more than 2 million tons of rapeseed. This indicator is a record comparing to the past 4 seasons.

The report also says that during the same period of the last season 937 thousand tons of this crop were exported.
The biggest amount of rape was supplied to foreign markets in September 2017. The export volumes amounted to 700.8 thousand tons, which was a record monthly indicator. During this season, the export potential is estimated at 2.1 million tons, which is twice as much as the result of the past year.
It should be recalled that during the reporting period, almost 4 million tons of oilseeds were exported from Ukraine, which is 1.3 million tons more than the figure of the previous year.
It is worth noting that during the reporting period, Ukraine also exported nearly 4 million tons of oilseeds, exceeding the previous year’s figure by 1.3 million tons.
Agriculture is an important sector of the Ukrainian economy, with the production of grain crops playing a key role. Rapeseed is one of the most sought-after grain crops in the global market. As one of the largest rapeseed producers in the world, Ukraine continues to increase its production and export volumes of this crop.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, the rapeseed export volume in 2017-2018 MG reached 3.8 million tons, which is 26% higher than the same period in the previous year. The growing demand for rapeseed in the global market is driven not only by its use in the food and technical industries but also as a source of biodiesel.
Furthermore, Ukraine is further increasing rapeseed production on local fields. According to the State Statistics Service, in 2020, the rapeseed cultivation area reached 1.1 million hectares, which is 10% higher than the previous year, resulting in a harvest of over 2.5 million tons. The rapeseed planting season in Ukraine lasts approximately 8 months, starting with autumn sowing and harvesting in early summer.
