Ukraine: The production of sunflower oil in Ukraine decreases

In November 2017, the production of sunflower oil by large and medium-sized plants reached a level of almost 479 thousand tons. This indicator is 6.5% less than the indicator of the previous month (the production of sunflower oil in October 2017 reached a level of almost 512 thousand tons) and 9.5% less than the indicator of November of the previous marketing year. It was November 2016 that became a record in the production of oil during this period – just over 529 thousand tons.

The first quarter of 2017/18 MY was marked by a high level of sunflower oil production, but nevertheless, compared to the previous marketing year, when production figures were record, the figures of this period of the current marketing year were 7.5% less than the previous one. During the three months of this period, 1.336.000 tons were produced, while during the three months of the previous year, 1.444.500 thousand tons were produced.

According to forecasts of analysts, in the current marketing year, the production of sunflower oil will decrease by 9%.
