UKRAINE: The Dnipropetrovsk region has harvested 500 thousand tons of grain

As of 14.07.2021 of the planned 833 thousand hectares of Dnipropetrovsk region harvested grain crops from an area of 132 thousand hectares, which is 16%. Currently, winter wheat and barley are being harvested. There were threshed 331 thousand tons of wheat and 176 thousand tons of barley.

The Dnipropetrovsk region is one of the largest producers of grain crops in Ukraine, and a successfully completed harvesting campaign will help maintain the region’s position in the grain market. An important success factor was good weather conditions favoring the harvest. The use of modern technology also played an important role, which made it possible to harvest the crop efficiently. The main crops harvested in the region are wheat and barley, which are the main export crops of Ukraine. In addition, small amounts of corn and rapeseed were also harvested.

The next crops to be harvested are winter rye, then spring wheat and barley, and oats.

The harvesting campaign is going on in all the districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region. It is planned to complete the harvest by the end of July if favourable conditions prevail.
