Ukraine: 93% of the area was sown with spring crops

As of April 23, over 2 million hectares were sown with spring grain crops, which is 93% of the forecast.

The planting of spring barley and oats has almost ended. These crops were planted on an area of 1.48 million hectares and 185 thousand hectares, respectively, which is 95% of the planned areas. Also sowing of wheat and peas is almost completed. These crops were planted on an area of 155 thousand hectares and 285 thousand hectares, which is 94% and 84% of the planned sown area.

In addition, as of the reporting date, 766 thousand hectares were sown with maize, which is 16% of the planned area.

Moreover, as of April 23, 110 thousand hectares of soybeans were sown, which amounted to 6% of the planned area.

Agrarians of Ukraine continue to sow spring crops, and at the moment 93% of the area has already been sown. The most common crops are corn and sunflower. The weather conditions this year favor crops as the climate is temperate and soil moisture is good. It is expected that the yield will be high, which will positively affect the country’s economy and export supplies.
