Russia: Grain reserves as of April 1 amounted to 23.5 million tons

As of April 1, 2019, the reserves of grain crops in Russia amounted to 23.5 million tons, which is 9.4 million tons or 28,6% lower than last year.

According to the data obtained, the volume of wheat stocks reached nearly 14 million tons, which is 7 million tons less than in 2018. In addition, this figure includes 7.9 million tons of reserves of processing enterprises, and 6 million tons of stocks of agricultural enterprises.

Corn and barley stocks have also declined. Thus, as of April 1, the stocks of these crops amounted to 1.1 million tons and slightly more than 1 million tons, respectively.

We are also observing a decline in stocks of rye, millet and rice.

It should be added that as of the reporting date, the stocks of buckwheat amounted to 109 thousand tons, which is 4% more than last year.
