Russia: The area for sowing winter crops is increased

According to information received from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of the second decade of November, 17.6 million hectares were sown with winter crops, which is 600.000 hectares more than last year.

The increase in the area under winter crops is due to the stabilization of the price policy for grain, which has been observed recently.

According to information received from SovEcon, the price of third-class wheat as of the reporting date amounted to nearly 11 thousand rubles per ton, while the price of fifth-grade wheat reached 9.2 thousand rubles per ton.

As a consequence of this positive trend in grain trading, there is every reason to believe that there will be a significant increase in the next year in the field of cereal production in general, as well as in the field of wheat cultivation.
