Russia: Import of grain and oilseeds totaled 3.6 million tons

According to the information received, the import of grains and oilseeds, as well as their products, from the beginning of the current MY amounted to 3.6 million tons.

Import of grain crops in the current marketing year fell by 11% compared with last year. So, last year 903 thousand tons were imported, whereas this year the import volumes amounted to 784 thousand tons.

The main imported product is soybeans. Import of this product reached 2.1 million tons, representing 60% of the total import volumes. In addition, there is still high import rate of wheat and rice.

It should also be noted that during this period import of rapeseed increased by 3 times, and import of peas increased by 7 times. The import volumes of these crops amounted to 58 thousand tons and 34 thousand tons, respectively.
