World: The export of Russian grain may exceed exports from Ukraine
Russia can take the second place as the exporter of grain crops, moving Ukraine to the line below, to third place.
Such information was provided by analysts of Sovecon.
The report says that according to data from the International Grains Council, Russia’s export potential in the current marketing year is increased by 1.7 million tons and is 44 million tons. Such indicators do not take into account leguminous crops and grain processing products.
According to forecasts of the International grains council, Russia will take the second place, as the export potential of Ukraine for the current marketing year has been reduced by 1.5 million tons and today it is 41 million tons. In the previous marketing year, Russia occupied only the fourth place, while the top three included the USA, Ukraine and Argentina. The leading exporting country of this season will remain such country as USA, whose export potential will be 80.3 million tons. The main crop in the export structure is corn and the export volume of this crop will be 47.7 million tons.
The report also says that since the beginning of the current marketing year, 28 million tons of grain have been supplied from Russia to foreign markets, which is 35% more than it was exported in the previous marketing year. Also, the export of wheat increased by 30% and now is 22 million tons. Such an active export can be explained by record harvests of this year as well as a large amount of carry-over stocks.
Export prices in dollars for wheat increased by about 5-10% and now is 193-194 dollars per ton, while wheat prices on the domestic market have decreased by 10-30%, which is what forced the exporters to make supplies more actively.
