Kazakhstan: Railway transportation of grain grew by 46%

During the first half of 2018, the total number of freight transported amounted to 123.000.000 t, which is 7% more than it was transported last year.

Also, over the specified period the volumes of grain transportation reached the level of 5.600.000 t, which exceeds the indicator for the same period of 2017 by 46%.

During June the quantity of shipped grain reached the level of 770.000 t, which is 30% more than it was shipped in June last year. The volume of grain exports amounted to 540.000 t, which is 44% higher than the same period last year.

In total, for the indicated period 1861 trains were used.

The increase in the direction of China-Europe was by 1.4 times, while in the direction of Europe-China, this indicator increased by 1.6 times in comparison with the data for the past year.

In Kazakhstan, rail transportation of grain in 2021 increased by 4.6% compared to last year. This indicates the continuous improvement of the logistics infrastructure in the country, which contributes to an increase in traffic volumes. In addition, the increase in railway tariffs for the transportation of grain did not have a strong impact on grain exports, which also continue to grow.

The growth of rail transportation of grain in Kazakhstan is an important factor for the development of grain exports and the development of agriculture in general.
