Kazakhstan: In the bins of Kostanay, the amount of grain is 25% lower than last year’s level
As of March 1, 2.25 million tons of grain and leguminous crops are stored in the bins of the Kostanay region, which is 25% lower than last year.
Such information was received from the Statistics Committee of the region.
The amount of wheat in the bins of Kostanay reached 1.97 million tons, and the amount of barley reached 188 thousand tons. In addition, reserves of such crops as oats, buckwheat, millet, corn, and rye are stored in the region, in the amount of 40.5 thousand tons, 2.2 thousand tons, 2.3 thousand tons, 336 tons and 50 tons, respectively.
In addition, at the beginning of March, the amount of food grains amounted to 16.4 million tons, which is also lower than last year by 25.5%. In the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, grain stocks are currently 25% less than in the same period last year. Despite this, producers claim the high quality of the crop, achieved due to good weather conditions. Representatives of the agricultural sector also report their readiness to fulfill plans for the export of grain. However, some experts fear that the reduction in stocks may lead to an increase in product prices and complicate the situation in the domestic market.
