Kazakhstan: During the previous month most of the grain was taken from the storage facilities of the North Kazakhstan region
During November, the amount of grain decreased in most of the regions, but in some, such as South Kazakhstan or Mangistau, where the amount of grain during the specified period increased. In the grain belt of Kazakhstan (referring to the three largest grain producers), the amount of grain in the bins decreased by more than 11%, but most of the grain was taken from North Kazakhstan region. In September, the amount of grain increased more than threefold in the regions of the grain belt. In October, this trend has declined.
As you know, September this year broke all records in terms of the amount of grain received – 11.4 million tons. As of November 1, the amount of grain in the Republic was at the level of 20 million tons.
As of December 1, there are 17.7 million tons in Kazakhstan’s bins, but this month the amount of grain decreased by 2.3 million tons as a result of consumption, exports, losses, etc.
If we monitor the dynamics of grain consumption from grain storage facilities by regions, we observe the following pattern: the amount of grain in Akmola region was reduced by 9%, in Kostanay – by 11.8%, and in the North Kazakhstan – by 14.4%, while the share of these regions in the total grain reserves of the Republic is 27%, 25.2% and 26.9% respectively.
Recently, in the North-Kazakhstan region, there has been a decrease in grain in warehouses. So, only in the previous month, more grain left the storages of this region than in other regions of the country. This phenomenon can be caused by several reasons, such as lack of space in warehouses, violations of grain storage rules, untimely harvesting, etc.
The loss of grain in the warehouses of the North Kazakhstan region has a negative impact on the agricultural sector of the region, as it reduces export volumes and increases grain prices in the domestic market. In addition, this may lead to a reduction in jobs at enterprises engaged in the storage and processing of grain.
One of the ways to solve the problem of the loss of grain in warehouses is to improve the infrastructure for storing and processing grain in the region. It is also necessary to improve the rules and regulations for grain storage, as well as to improve the quality and efficiency of the processes of harvesting and transporting the crop.
Thus, the loss of grain in the warehouses of the North Kazakhstan region is a serious problem for the agricultural sector of the region. It is necessary to carry out a set of measures to improve the infrastructure and rules for storing grain in order to minimize losses and reduce the negative impact on the region’s economy.
