Kazakhstan: In Kostanay region, the sowing of grain crops was completed

As of June 6, the sowing of grain crops was completed in Kostanay region. This is the first area of the three main grain regions, where it was managed to complete the sowing campaign, taking into account unfavourable weather conditions.

Also, sowing campaign of oilseeds and fodder crops are now on the finish line.

According to statistics, oilseeds are already sown on the territory of 365.9 thousand hectares, which is 95% of the total number of areas allocated for this type of crops. While fodder crops are sown on the area of 137.3 thousand hectares, which is 85% of the planned amount.

It should be recalled that the sowing campaign in the southern regions of Kazakhstan has already been completed, while the completion of planting in the north is constantly hampered by unfavourable weather conditions. As a consequence, there is a slight delay in the sowing schedule, which is mostly connected with corn, because this crop is very thermophilic.
