Kazakhstan: In December, Kazakhstan set a new record for the export of vegetable oils

In December 2017, 15.8 thousand tons of vegetable oils were exported from Kazakhstan to international markets. This indicator was a record among indicator of monthly supplies. In addition, record indicators reached exports volumes of sunflower and flax oil. The export volumes of these types of oils were 6.4 thousand tons and 3.2 thousand tons.

Such information was provided by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main consumers of oil from Kazakhstan were China (8.500 tons of oil exported to this country) and Uzbekistan (4.400 tons of oil were exported to this country). The structure of oil exports to China is as follows: the supply of sunflower oil amounted to 4.1 thousand tons, which is 63% of the total volume, as well as the entire volume of flaxseed oil. In addition, during the reporting period, the whole volume of oil from rapeseed was delivered to the PRC, and it amounted to 1.3 thousand tons.

It should be recalled that in 2017, 106.3 thousand tons of vegetable oils were supplied from Kazakhstan, which is 2 times higher than last year. More than half of the total supply was exported to China.

In December 2021, Kazakhstan reached a new record in the export of vegetable oils. The volume of oil exports amounted to 164,600 tons, which is 32.5% higher than in December 2020. In total, Kazakhstan exported 1.8 million tons of vegetable oils in 2021, which is 34.6% higher than in 2020.

The main product that Kazakhstan exports is sunflower oil. Significant volumes are also exported of soybean oil and rapeseed oil. The main buyers of Kazakh vegetable oil are CIS countries and China.

Kazakhstan continues to develop the production and export of vegetable oils, which is an important element of the country’s economy. Vegetable oil is a sought-after product in the global market, and Kazakhstan continues to increase its share in the export of this commodity.
