Kazakhstan: In 2017, Kazakhstan broke all records on the production of vegetable oils
In December 2017, 47 thousand tons of vegetable oils were produced. This indicator has broken all records and for today, this is a new maximum.
Such data was provided by the State Statistics Committee.
The amount of refined sunflower oil was 21 thousand tons, while in November last year this figure was 13.8 thousand tons. However, the production of unrefined oil decreased by 2% and amounted to 12.9 thousand tons.
In addition, more cottonseed oil was produced this month. This figure was 4.6 thousand tons, which is 2.9 times more than in November of 2017, and also 2 times higher than in December 2016.
It should also be recalled that the country has taken a course to increase the acreage, and compared to 2016, the increase amounted to 335.30 thousand hectares.
In addition, starting from 2013, the production of vegetable oils continues to grow. In 2013, 1586.7 thousand tons were produced, and in 2016 this figure was already 2026.1 thousand tons. Thus, over 4 years the volume of vegetable oils production grew by 27.7%.
The increase in the production of oils is due to increase in crop areas, as well as the increase in yields.
The main oil crop of Kazakhstan is sunflower. About 40% of the total amount of sown areas is allocated for sunflower. The second most popular crop is flax. The active production of flax began in 2009. And the top three is closed by rapeseed. About 10% of total amount of sown areas is allocated for rapeseed. The leader in the production of flax and rapeseed is the North-Kazakhstan region.
In 2017, Kazakhstan showed impressive results in the production of vegetable oils. According to reports, the total production of vegetable oils this year reached a record high, exceeding previous figures. This is due to an increase in the area under the cultivation of oilseeds, as well as the improvement of oil production technologies.
One of the most popular oilseeds in Kazakhstan is sunflower, which is used to produce sunflower oil. In addition, Kazakhstan produces oils from soybeans, rapeseed, flax, corn and other crops.
Vegetable oils are produced in various forms such as refined, unrefined, deodorized, etc. Each type of oil has its own benefits and is used for different purposes. For example, refined oil is used in the food industry, while unrefined oil is often used for cosmetic and medical purposes.
In addition to the production of vegetable oils for domestic consumption, Kazakhstan also exports its products abroad. This significantly increases the economic performance of the country and helps to attract investment.
