
Kazakhstan: Harvest campaign completed by 85%
According to the information received, as of October 2, the harvested area reached 12.880.000 ha, which is 85% of the total allotted area. Last year, a little more then 13.000.000 ha were harvested as of the same date.
It should be recalled that a total of 15.26 million hectares were sown this year.
This information was received from the Ministry of Agriculture.
As of October 2, 14.87 million tons of grain were harvested, while a year earlier this figure was 17.6 million tons.
The average yield in the current year amounted to 1.15 t/ha, while in 2018 this indicator reached 1.35 t/ha.
Most of the grain was harvested in the Akmola region – 3.86 million tons. The North Kazakhstan region is on the second place with a yield of 3.18 million tons and the Kostanay region is on the third place with a harvested volume of slightly more than 2 million tons.
In Kazakhstan, the harvesting campaign of grain crops was completed by 85%. Farmers and agricultural enterprises demonstrated high efficiency in their work, which affected the yield. This year, the yield of grain crops was higher than in the past, which made it possible to increase the volume of grain exports. As a result, Kazakhstan is strengthening its position in the world grain market and continues to successfully develop its agricultural sector.
