Kazakhstan: Farmers submitted applications to the state for the purchase of wheat
As of January 18, 2018, agricultural producers of the Republic of Kazakhstan submitted applications to the state for the purchase of 2.615 million tons of wheat, which is only 1% of the total number of state purchases planned by the government this season.
Such information was provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Kazakhstan.
The report says that the largest number of applications was submitted by agricultural producers of the Akmola region. The volume of state purchases on their applications should reach 1.433 million tons, which is 54% of the total volume of applications. Also, the agrarians of Kostanay and North-Kazakhstan region submitted a large number of applications. According to these applications, the volume of state purchases should reach 842 and 340 thousand tons respectively.
Also, it should be mentioned that no applications were submitted from other regions of the country.
It should be recalled that during 12 months of 2017 Kazakhstan’s agricultural producers managed to get 20994 million tons of grain, and the average yield was 14.4 centners per hectare. The top three leaders of grain production in the Republic of Kazakhstan are North Kazakhstan region (5.627.200 tons), Kostanay region (5.225.300 tons) and Akmola region (5.123.900 tons).
Agricultural producers of Kazakhstan have applied for participation in the state program for the purchase of wheat. This program can become an additional incentive for the development of wheat production in the country, as well as reduce dependence on imports.
The state wheat purchase program was launched in Kazakhstan to stimulate the development of domestic grain production. According to the program, the state will buy a certain amount of wheat from farmers at a fixed price.
Submission of applications for participation in the program has already become possible for agricultural producers in Kazakhstan. This gives them an additional incentive to produce wheat, as they will receive a guaranteed market and profit at a fixed price. It can also reduce dependence on imports, which is important for the country’s economic stability.
The development of domestic wheat production in Kazakhstan could also be beneficial for exports. Increasing production and reducing dependence on imports could increase the competitiveness of Kazakh wheat on world markets.
Thus, the government’s wheat purchase program could be an important incentive to develop domestic grain production in Kazakhstan and reduce dependence on imports. This can lead to increased production and increased competitiveness in global markets.
