KAZAKHSTAN: From 15.08.2021, there will be redundancy on grain exports and a ban on the export of animal feed from the country for six months

Kazakhstan plans to reduce the export of major grain crops and ban the export of animal feed from the country from 15.08.2021.

Restrictions on grain exports may lead to an increase in food prices in the country, and a ban on the export of feed may adversely affect the development of animal husbandry. The government of Kazakhstan promises to allocate funds to support industries affected by the restrictions. This decision may affect the market for grain and feed in the region and require a review of export and import strategies from neighboring countries.

Which crops have been approved to reduce grain exports from Kazakhstan (also applies to EAEU countries) for six months? They are soft wheat (V class), barley, including meal and oilcake.

What will be subject to a total export ban? They are hay, haylage, silage, oats, and rye.
