Kazakhstan: Sowing campaign is overfulfilled

As of June 3, information was received that the sowing campaign of spring crops was over-fulfilled. So, as of the specified date, 14.288 million hectares were sown, which exceeds the planned area by 0.2%. This year, 14.264 million hectares were planned for these crops.

This information was obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture.

In the Akmola and Kostanay region, the plan is 100% complete. In these regions, 4.34 million hectares and 3.99 million hectares were sown, respectively. In the North Kazakhstan region, 2.75 million hectares were sown, which is 99.8% of the planned area.

In addition, corn sowing is almost completed. This crop was sown on an area of 148.3 thousand hectares, which is 97.8% of the plan.

The oilseed sowing campaign also exceeded the plan. Thus, as of the reporting date, 2.74 million hectares were sown, which is 0.5% more than planned.

The sowing campaign in Kazakhstan was over-fulfilled by 5.5% compared to the plan. The total grain sowing amounted to more than 22 million hectares, which indicates the growing interest of farmers in the development of agriculture. The grain harvest is expected to be good, which will positively affect the country’s economy.
