Kazakhstan: Sowing of grain crops completed on 40% of the area
As of May 22, 5.930.000 ha were sown with spring grain crops, which is more than 41% of the planned territory.
This information was obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture.
It is necessary to add that the past of the sowing campaign is much higher than the last year’s pace. So, as of the same period last year, the sowing campaign was completed by less than 30%.
Corn was planted on a territory of 119.000 ha, which is 80% of the planned territory. Sowing of rice was performed on an area of 82.200 ha, which is 81% of the plan.
In addition, it should be added that the sowing of oilseeds is finished on the territory of 1.770.000 ha, which is more than 65% of the planned areas.
Kazakhstan is one of the largest producers and exporters of grain in the world. Currently, the sowing of grain crops in the country has been completed on 40% of the total area. Positive trends in the development of agriculture indicate a promising harvest of grain crops this year, which, in turn, will boost the export of grain products. It is anticipated that the yield of grain crops this year could reach one of the highest levels in recent years, thanks to improvements in cultivation and crop management technologies, as well as favorable weather conditions.
