Agricultural export to Japan increased twofold
According to the statement of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the amount of agricultural products exported to Japan from Ukraine has doubled for the past 2015. Similar information came from Vladislava Rutitskaya, who is the deputy head of the European integration department in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. Such a statement was posted on her official Facebook page.
The data of 2015 were compared to the data of 2014. It is noted that over the past 11 months the total amount of exported goods reached 147 million dollars. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Ms.Rutitskaya believe that Japan is a favorable country for the export of Ukrainian agrarian products. This is due to the fact that in this respect the country of the rising sun depends more than half on imported products.
Among the products that go to Japan for export, grain products as well as tobacco and tobacco products are predominant. A small part of export products includes cheese and dairy products. According to Rutitskaya, in addition to these groups, honey and products made of vegetables and fruits were also supplied to Japan in 2015.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food plans to increase the groups of exported goods, and to add oils and margarine, as well as livestock products, particularly poultry.
Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation in agricultural sector is not only export. The Ministry plans to search for investors from Japan to invest in processing of cereals, soybeans, berries, and fish. This is the interest of Japan, which is confirmed by the fact that at the end of last year, Ukraine was provided with 300 million dollars from this country to finance the industry.
