Kazakhstan: Harvest is twice as low as last year

As of September 13 of this year, Kazakhstan harvested 7.200.000 t of grain, from 5.600.000 ha, which is 37.8% of the total amount of sown areas. As of the 13.09 the average yield was 1.27 t/ha.

However, it should be recalled that as of the same date last season 14.400.000 t of grain were harvested, which was 74.3% of the planned amount.

It should be added that as of the indicated date, the harvesting campaign was completed only in one region – in the Turkestan region.

In the main grain-growing regions of Kazakhstan, the conditions do not facilitate harvesting. Only in Kostanay region it was managed to collect almost 50% of the planned amount.

This year, the country expects a harvest of more than 20 million tons.

The harvest in Kazakhstan has decreased by two times compared to last year, posing challenges for agriculture. Explore the reasons and consequences of this decline on the PIS Ukraine website and discover possible measures to improve the situation.
