Ukraine: Agricultural producers start harvesting of spring rape

According to data on July 11, 2018, agricultural producers harvested 600 tons of rape from an area of 1550 hectares.

Such information was provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

Grain harvest volumes of the new crop amounted to 11.11 million tons, and the collection area reached 3.65 million hectares, which is 38% of the total area planted with cereals. The yield was slightly more than 3 tons per hectare.

The amount of harvested winter wheat and winter barley was 7.7 million tons (39% of the total number of crops) and 2.68 million tons (94% of the total number of crops), respectively. The volumes of spring wheat and spring barley were 14.8 thousand tons (3% of the total number of crops) and 379.1 thousand tons (13% of the total number of crops), respectively.

Also, the harvest of peas, rye and oats amounted to 300 thousand tons, 6.5 thousand tons and 1.5 thousand tons, respectively.
