Ukraine: Export supplies of soybeans in April decreased by 19%

During April of this year, more than 214.5 thousand tons of soybeans were exported, which is more than 19% less than the figures of the previous month, but at the same time, the figure of this year is 18% higher than the figure of the past year.

During the period from September to April of the current marketing year, 2.47 million tons of soybeans were delivered to foreign markets, which is 4% less than last year.

This season, the increase in the export supplies of soybeans to the countries of Europe was noted. During the reporting period, the supplies of soybeans to the EU amounted to 783 thousand tons, which exceeds by 26% the volume of supplies of the whole last season. In addition, one of the main importers of soy from Ukraine is Turkey. The amount of 664 thousand tons were supplied to this country. Also, the third place in terms of imports of soybeans is occupied by Iran. The share of exports to this country is 13%.

It should be recalled that about 70% of the agrarians refused to grow soybeans in the next year, unless the cancellation of VAT refund is not cancelled.

In April, Ukraine’s export of soybeans decreased by 19% compared to March and amounted to 106.2 thousand tons. The main importing countries of Ukrainian soybeans in April were Turkey, which bought 27.9 thousand tons, Iran – 27.3 thousand tons and Vietnam – 19.9 thousand tons.

It should be noted that in general, in January-April, soybean exports from Ukraine increased by 35.5% and amounted to 1.1 million tons. The main buyers of Ukrainian soybeans during this period were Turkey, Iran, Vietnam, Spain and the Netherlands.

Ukraine is one of the largest producers and exporters of soybeans in the world. Soybeans are used in animal feed as well as food production, including soybean oil, soy sauce, tofu, and others. Soybean export is an important component of the Ukrainian economy and contributes to strengthening its position in the world grain market.
