English: According to forecasts of analysts, the yield of barley is expected to be reduced
In the current year, there are many prerequisites for reducing the yield of grain crops. These are unstable weather conditions, short spring sowing, etc.
Such information was provided by APK-Inform.
According to experts, the gross grain harvest can reach a level of more than 62 million tons, which is almost equal to the data of the past season. Last year the gross grain harvest amounted to 61.9 million tons.
However, analysts predict a significant reduction in the barley yield.
According to preliminary data, it is expected to collect 7.3 million tons, which is 12% less than the figure of the current MY. In the current MY, the amount of barley collected reached 8.3 million tons. There are several reasons why a decrease in yield should be expected, including a decrease in area allocated for barley by 8%, as well as a decrease in the yield of this crop due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Analysts expect the figures for gross wheat harvest at 25.4 million tons, and the total harvest of corn is expected at a level of 26.7 million tons.
It should be recalled that to date, 6.6 million hectares of maize and grain crops have been sown, which is 90% of the total area allocated for these crops.
