World: World sunflower production volumes
The production of sunflower in the current year is forecasted at 48.52 million tons, which is 1.42 less than the indicator of the previous MY.
Such information was provided by APK-Inform. In Ukraine and Russia, the amount of sunflower produced is expected to decrease by 1.9 million tons and 1 million tons, respectively. The previous forecast for these countries was 15.1 million tons and 11.6 million tons respectively. In addition, the growth in the production of this crop is expected in the EU countries, as well as in such countries as Argentina, China and Turkey. Now, the production forecast is 9.74 million tons, 3.5 million tons, 2.8 million tons and 1.7 million tons respectively.
The final stocks of this crop in the world will drop by 100.000 tons compared to last year’s figure. This year, the figure will be 3.65 million tons.
It should be recalled that during the first month of this year, Ukraine managed to supply to foreign markets 2.42 thousand tons of sunflower. The sum of delivery was 1.11 million dollars.
For the current year, sunflower production in the world continues to increase. According to statistics, the largest volume of production falls on the countries of Europe and Asia. The leading countries in sunflower production are Ukraine, Russia, Argentina, China and Turkey.
In addition to the above countries, India, Kazakhstan, the USA, South Africa, Spain, France, etc. also take part in sunflower production. The share of these countries in the total production is at the level of 1 to 5%.
The increase in sunflower production in the world is due to an increase in demand for this crop and its products. Sunflower is used to produce oil, fodder crops, confectionery and other products. The growth in sunflower production is also associated with an increase in yields and an increase in the acreage of the leading producing countries.
