Ukraine: Grain exports amounted to 22.4 million tons

During the six months of the current marketing year, as of January 18, 2018, Ukraine supplied almost 22.4 million tons of grain to foreign markets, which is 2.6 million tons less than in the previous year.

Such data was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Indicators of wheat exports for this period amounted to 11.71 million tons, which is 486 thousand tons less than the same indicator of the previous marketing year.

Also, the report says that barley exports amounted to 3.91 million tons, which is 496 thousand tons less than the same indicator of the previous marketing year. In addition, during the reporting period, 6.7 million tons of corn were exported, which is 1.53 million tons less than during the same period of the previous marketing year. And finally, the rye exports volumes amounted to 13.2 thousand tons.

It should also be recalled that India takes the leading position on the import of Ukrainian wheat according to the results of the first half of the current marketing year. The imports volume amounted to half a million tons.

The success of Ukraine in the world market of grain crops is explained not only by high volumes of production and export, but also by the use of modern technologies and constant work to improve the quality of products. In addition, Ukrainian grain crops are distinguished by high nutritional properties and are suitable for use in various branches of the food and technical industries.
