Ukraine: Export figures of oats decrease

During the 2017, 11 thousand tons of oats were exported from Ukraine, which is 3.8 times less than the same figure of 2016.

Such information was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

In monetary terms, the cost of supplies decreased by 3.3 times in 2017 and amounted to 1.75 million dollars, while in 2016 the cost of exports amounted to 5.7 million dollars.

The report also says that the main importers of oats from Ukraine in 2017 were Pakistan (the share of exports to this country was 38%), the Netherlands and Germany (the share of exports to these countries was 8%). It should be mentioned that in 2016 the main consumer of oats was India (the share of exports to this country was 36%).

Ukraine is the largest producer of oat grains in Europe and one of the largest in the world. The main consumers of Ukrainian oats are the countries of Europe, Asia and North America. Despite the decline in exports, Ukraine continues to be an important player in the global oat grain market.

In addition to exporting oat grains, Ukraine also produces oat flakes, flour and other products based on them. Oats are a healthy and nutritious food rich in fiber and micronutrients, and their consumption can have a positive impact on human health
