Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan plans to increase exports volume to 9 million tons

In 2017, Kazakhstani agrarians plan to increase the volume of supplies to foreign markets of grain as well as flour to 9.1 million tons.

As a result of 2017, it is planned to send approximately 9.1 million tons of grain to the foreign markets as well as flour. This figure exceeds last year’s by 400 thousand tons.

During the last month of this year, shippers plan to export 1.3 million tons. In order to supply such a quantity of grain, it is necessary to provide 16.500 wagons, among which almost 12.000 grain hoppers and slightly more than 4770 covered wagon.

It should be recalled that this year the agrarians of Kazakhstan managed to collect just over 22 million tons of grain, while the average yield amounted to 1.4 tons per hectare.

The biggest amount of grain during the current year was collected in the North-Kazakhstan region – 5.6 million tons. Then Kostanay region is included in the top three – 5.2 million tons, and Akmola region – 5.1 million tons.

Kazakhstan is one of the largest grain producers in the world, and the increase in export volumes is one of the important directions for the development of its economy. As of the end of 2021, Kazakhstan exported more than 7 million tons of grain, and the country plans to increase this figure to 9 million tons in the coming years.

To achieve this goal, the government of Kazakhstan is actively working to improve the infrastructure for storing and transporting grain, as well as to improve export regulation mechanisms. In addition, Kazakhstan continues to develop its crops and introduce new technologies in agriculture in order to increase the yield and quality of grain.

Grain exports are an important source of income for Kazakhstan, and increasing exports will strengthen the country’s economy and improve the lives of its people. At the same time, an increase in export volumes may cause a number of challenges and problems associated with competition in the world grain market and changes in climatic conditions.
