Ukraine: Export volumes for the period from January to October 2017/18 marketing year

As of the end of October, the exports volume of rapeseed oil was 48.87 million dollars. Such data was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

The main countries importing rapeseed oil for the period from January to October 2017/2018 marketing year are Poland (the export volume is 24.36 thousand tons amounted to 19.43 million dollars), Spain (the export volume is 17.49 thousand tons amounted to 13.97 million dollars) and Lithuania (the export volume is 11.12 thousand tons amounted to 8.88 million dollars).

In 2016/17 marketing year, the exports volume of rapeseed oil significantly decreased, by almost 40% to 91.95 thousand tons.

Also, the exports volume of wheat flour was 357 thousand tons amounted to 77.03 million dollars. Such information was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

The main importing countries of wheat flour for the period from January to October are China (the amount of deliveries was 17.52 million dollars), Angola (the amount of deliveries was 9.07 million dollars) and Moldova (the amount of deliveries was 6.5 million dollars).

Flour from other types of cereals was supplied to Croatia, Poland and Moldova.

According to statistics from the State Fiscal Service, 1.83 million tons of rapeseed was exported.

The main buyers of rapeseed from January to October 2017/18 marketing year were the Netherlands (deliveries totaled to 190 million dollars), Germany (USD 168 million) and Belgium (USD 145 million).

Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products in the world. For the period from January to October 2017-18 marketing year, Ukraine’s exports amounted to more than $15 billion. Among the main goods exported by Ukraine, grain is in the first place, followed by oilseeds, sugar and meat.

Ukraine sends the largest volume of agricultural exports to Asian countries, in particular to China, India and Japan. Also, a significant part of the products is supplied to the countries of Europe and the Middle East.

Thanks to its productive land and highly qualified specialists, Ukraine has great potential for developing agriculture and increasing exports. Another important factor is the development of infrastructure and the introduction of new technologies in the production of agricultural goods.
