Ukraine: The quality of export grain is subject to more careful control
In 2017, 91 complaints were received regarding the quality of grain that was exported from the country. Over the past year, the number of such complaints was 80. Such data were reported at the grain export conference by the representative of the phytosanitary service Vadim Tchaikovsky.
Complaints were received from the following countries: 86 from India, 3 from Belarus and 2 from Indonesia.
Complaints from Indonesia this year came as a result of poor-quality fumigation, which in the future could cause the loss of such an importer of Ukrainian grain.
According to the representative of the phytosanitary service, as of November 2017, the signing of standards on phytosanitary measures is planned with Indonesia.
Also, Olga Trofimtseva stated that claims to phytosanitary indices and compliance with phytosanitary norms is one of the most important issues for today to Ukrainian grain exporters. They need to monitor the quality of grain at the earliest stages of its production.
The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy urged not to economize on quality, and not to question the reputation of companies and the reputation of the country as a whole.
In Ukraine, grain export is one of the most important sectors of the economy. In order to ensure high quality products and maintain the country’s reputation in world markets, Ukraine pays great attention to quality control of export grain.
Bodies of state control and certification regularly carry out inspections at all stages of production and transportation of grain, from its collection to shipment. This ensures that products meet high quality and safety standards.
In addition, Ukraine actively cooperates with international organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to develop and implement international standards in the field of grain quality and safety.
Thus, quality control of export grain is an important factor for the successful development of Ukraine’s export sector. Thanks to the measures taken in the country, Ukrainian grain is in high demand on world markets, and Ukraine is strengthening its reputation as a reliable supplier of high quality products
