Export of Ukrainian sunflower

In recent years, Ukraine has occupied one of the leading places in the world in the production and export of sunflower. However, for the period from September to October of this year, a decrease in the export of this crop was registered. According to official data, in October 2023, sunflower exports amounted to 2.1 million tons, which is 17.5% less than in September.

Several factors contributed to the decline in sunflower exports. One of the main ones is instability in world markets. In addition, since the beginning of this year, there has been an increase in sunflower prices in Ukraine, which also had a negative impact on export performance. However, experts do not consider the situation critical and are sure that in the near future the indicators of sunflower exports in Ukraine will even out.

In general, Ukraine continues to be one of the key players in the world market for the production and export of sunflower. In the coming years, the country plans to increase the area under sunflower seeds, as well as improve the technologies for growing and processing this crop. This will not only increase export performance, but also improve the economic development of the country as a whole.
