UKRAINE: Spring sowing in Poltava is over

According to the press service of the Poltava Regional State Administration, as of April 20, 2021, the sowing of early grain crops finished.

93.2 thousand hectares of sown areas were sown with grain and leguminous crops. Most of the area was sown by barley – 77 thousand hectares. 7 thousand hectares were sown with spring wheat, 6.5 thousand hectares with peas, 2.6 thousand hectares with oats.

Currently, the agrarians of the Poltava region are sowing sunflower, which has already been sown 56 thousand hectares, which is 15% of the planned. They have also started sowing corn.

Sugar beet was sown on 60% of the allocated area (15.2 thousand hectares).
