Russia: Export duties on grain increased

On January 23, 2021, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, M.Mishutin, signed a resolution on the amount of duties on grain crops (wheat, barley and corn).
15.02 to 28.02 of the current year, wheat will be subject to a duty in the amount of 28 euros per ton.
15.02 to 14.03 of the current year, there will be no duty for barley and corn.
1.03 to 30.06 of the current year, the duty for wheat will be increased to 50 euros per ton.
15.03 to 30.06 of the current year, the duty for barley will amount to 10 euros per ton.
15.03 to 30.06 of the current year, the duty for corn will amount to 25 euros per ton.
At the same time, the tariff quota amounts to 17.5 million tons.
If the amount of crops sent abroad exceed the allowed one, it will be subject to a duty of half of the product’s customs value, but not less than hundred euros per ton. This applies to products that will be shipped outside the Customs Union.
The Government believes that these measures will help to reduce the volume of exports and, consequently, will help to redirect market participants from the sale of agricultural raw materials abroad to the export of agricultural goods with high added value.
